In late May 2017 it was revealed that Facebook has data sharing partnerships with a number of device makers including Microsoft, Apple, and Samsung. The partnerships are concerning in the wake of the Cambridge Analytica scandal. In some cases, device makers would have access to users' friends data without consent. In other news, Facebook killed the Trending section in May 2018.
In May 2018, Pew Internet released a study on teens, social media & technology. The study reported that Facebook is no longer the leading platform for teens.
